Putin dismisses head of Russia’s Kirov Region over loss of trust
MOSCOW, Jul 28 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Nikita Belykh from his post of Kirov Region’s governor over the loss of trust, the Kremlin said in a statement Thursday.
Putin also appointed Igor Vasilyev, head of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, as the acting governor of the Kirov Region.
Previously, Belykh was put under arrest and charged with receiving 400,000 euros in bribes. Belykh said he is innocent and plans to defend it in court.
